Realize this. Success in anything, including online dating, requires thought and planning. I think you’ll agree that getting married or deciding to live with someone for the rest of your life is a major event. It is life altering. If it’s not the right person there can even be serious legal consequences sometimes leading to financial problems and family feuds. These are important decisions that can change your life. You plan for retirement. You plan for bad health (with heath insurance). Are you willing to leave this monumental decision up to fate and luck? I think you should have some input in the decision and actively seek those who will be most compatible with you. With that in mind, let’s get serious about finding a mate. Naruto Dad
The first thing to do is find a good photo of yourself. We are well beyond the year 2000. We still don’t have those aero-helio-cars but there really is NO REASON for a person to not be able to get a decent photo of him or herself into the dang computer. Digital cameras are cheap and included with most every cell phone, flatbed scanners are cheap, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Walgreens, every drugstore and grocery store has a photo processing center where you can get a roll of film developed and have the photos put on a CD-ROM. As a last resort, they have a flatbed scanner at these things that will scan your photo and put it on a disk or CD for only a couple of dollars. For less than the price of your lunch!
You have to have a photo. With a photo you will get more responses and typically, those responses you do get will be of a higher quality in that they will not run away after you finally email them a photo. You have nothing to hide. Studies have shown that successful couples are physically attracted to each other. There is such a thing as love-at-first-sight. There is a relationship about the geometry between the eyes, nose, lips, and other facial features that trigger those “love” hormones and elicit an emotional response in humans. A photo is a must to attract other singles. If you cannot bring yourself to include it in your profile, make one available in the private area and say that you have one available and make it clear that you expect a photo from all respondents.
Now let’s help you find a photo that will appeal to other singles! If at all possible, steer away from photos where your ex-wife/husband/mother/brother/prom date was obviously cut out of the photo. Choose a photo which does not include other people. Other people of the same sex confuse the person reading your singles profile as to which one is you and distract attention from you. People of the opposite sex in your photo, even if it’s your grandpa, tell the viewer that you are already in a relationship. You want to appear single and not even hint that there are other people in your life. A “mug shot” or a “bust” photo like you would find in a high school yearbook usually is best. You want your head big enough that your good-looking-ness is easy to see. Yet small enough that wrinkles and blemishes are not noticeable. Most people really want to see your eyes. Other singles do not want to see you as a dot in front of a beautiful Cancun panorama. Clear facial features and the eyes trigger than emotional response. And THAT is certainly what you are after.
Guys, forget the photos with sunglasses and no shirt unless you are posting your ad in an “Adult Situations” area (which we don’t have at LuvRhino’s Dating Service for Singles ). And put down the beer can too. Drunk, party pictures with you and your single friends hanging from the rafters, are not going to help get you a quality mate. Unless you desire a mate who is a power drinker and is good at hanging from rafters, then go for it. Who am I to stop you.
Ladies, most guys think that the “Glamour Shots” photos are hokey! It is not your real hair, it’s been poofed up for that photo sitting. It is not your real face, they pile on the makeup for the camera! And often, it’s not even your own clothes because they provide sexy outfits or you are wearing a something formal that we’ll never see you wearing in real life more than once every five years. For a select few, if you really are a model, it is probably a good idea to use one of your professional photos and mention that you are a model in your singles profile.

Stand with your back to a blank wall with is in contrast to your clothing. What this means is if you are wearing a white t-shirt, then don’t stand in front of a white wall. You might have to take a couple of pictures off of your wall to clear some space. Go ahead because it’s just for a minute. You can also use the back of a door. Be sure you are not standing in front of a mirror. Stand up straight. Have the photographer step one step to the side so that they are not shooting straight at the wall behind you. This will reduce glare. Take several photos, move your head a little, turn your body 1/4 turn to the camera and shoot again. Have fun! have the photographer (your friend) talk to you. If you don’t want to have a friend help you, use a tripod and the camera’s built in self timer. You can also set the camera in a pile of books on a table or a stool, while you sit in a chair.
